Fronius is now proud to announce one of the most cost effective and easy-to-set-up export limiting solutions on the market. As of now, the Fronius SnapINverter range* in conjunction with any of the Fronius Smart Meters can be configured to achieve a grid export limit from -10% to 100% of the system rating.

The system just requires a SnapINverter with in-built Datamanager and a Fronius Smart Meter. The export limit settings are activated on the Datamanager web interface and are secured with the use of a password. For more detailed information please contact Taspac Technical Support via support@taspacenergy.co.nz or Fronius Technical Support via pv-support-australia@fronius.com

Fronius put their inverters through their paces to ensure the highest possible quality standards, and that’s why we’re able to offer a Ten Year Warranty out the box.

Did you know that Fronius tests far more than what is required by national and international specifications? The electrical properties are verified, the inverter’s behaviour on the power grid is tested, the efficiency is measured, and the mechanical strength under transport loads is tested. The behaviour of inverters is also tested in tough environments to demonstrate how the devices react to various environmental conditions such as water, dust, salt, and temperature.

Long-term tests are performed to determine how long the devices will withstand the stipulated requirements, and they also ensure that our inverters are prepared for any situation. For example, if a device is intended for outdoor installation, it must be resistant to water sprayed from any direction and protected against the ingress of foreign bodies and, depending on the device and region, it must also withstand temperatures from -25°C to +55°C.

We want you to relax in the knowledge that a Fronius inverter is a high quality inverter, built to last. However, we understand the importance of a robust warranty for peace of mind, which is why we are extending our 10 year warranty on all Fronius SnapINverters
until December 31, 2016.

Aquion Energy Advanced Hybrid Ion (AHI) Batteries are the latest addition to the Taspac Energy product range with Taspac being recently appointed as the authorised dealer for New Zealand.

Aquion Energy Manufactures clean and sustainable saltwater batteries that outlive and outperform traditional battery chemistries.

Energy Storage, Clean and Simple: The technology is based on a simple idea: In order to meet the challenges of the world’s growing energy needs and increase the use of renewable power, we need large-scale energy storage systems that are high performance, safe, sustainable and cost-effective. Aquion founder, Professor Jay Whitacre, set out to solve this problem and discovered a simple and elegant solution that is a twist on a 200 year-old technology: saltwater batteries. Aquion developed this solution into the patented Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI™) chemistry, a unique saltwater electrolyte battery technology. Using abundant, nontoxic materials and modern low cost manufacturing techniques, our AHI batteries are now ready to take on the global energy storage challenge.

A Unique Chemistry: The unique Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI) chemistry is composed of a saltwater electrolyte, manganese oxide cathode, carbon composite anode, and synthetic cotton separator. The battery utilizes non-corrosive reactions at the anode and cathode to prevent deterioration of the materials. The water-based chemistry results in a nontoxic and non-combustible product that is safe to handle and environmentally friendly.

We’re happy to announce that as of 1 February 2015 the Innovative Group took over the operations of In Line Components Ltd.

In Line Components is a DC Power systems business based in Featherston. It was owned and operated by Barry Johnson, who has more than 40 years experience in the electronics and energy industry. The business primarily sells Cordex DC systems to Utilities, and has a strong presence with some key critical infrastructure clients. As part of the acquisition process the In Line systems assembly moves to the Innovative and Taspac facility in Auckland. Barry will continue to work in the business providing support and training on the Cordex range, both from a design and quoting perspective, and also assembly of Cordex systems. Barry will also be responsible for customer integration and growing the business using the full capability of the groups resources.

The Innovative Group consists of Innovative Energies, Taspac Energy and In Line Components in New Zealand and Amtex Electronics in Australia. For more information about any of our group companies, service and solutions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us by clicking here.

Energeno is the latest addition to the Taspac Energy product range. Energeno’s range of home automation products utilises the surplus FREE electricity produced by your Solar PV system whether or not you’re at home so you can run your appliances using this surplus, rather than paying for expensive electricity later on and reducing the amount of energy you export to the grid.

It provides free hot water by proportionally diverting surplus renewable electricity to the immersion heater. It starts heating water from 50W, and it gets its data using current transformers. The solution is fully automatic and can be added to any solar power installation and immersion heating system.

Optismart® Hot Water allows for standard, predictable and repeatable installation thanks to the wireless connectivity between the controller unit and the power throttle. The colour display shows how much electricity is being generated, used and how much surplus is being diverted to the tank

Optiplug is an intelligent socket which switches on your appliances when you have spare electricity. The smart socket learns and understands how much electricity is used by the appliances that are plugged into it. Optiplug then only switches on when enough electricity is available for those appliances, switching off when electricity is no longer free. When more than one Optiplugs are installed, the built-in intelligence prioritises your appliances by power to minimise the amount of switching that takes place. To ensure maximum efficiency of your surplus power, higher power appliances take priority over lower powered ones: a 2kW appliance would switch on first and switch off last and a 300W appliance would come on last and switch off first. The smart activity optimises your use of your own excess generated electricity.

Following a successful week of meetings and evening events in the major centres, Taspac Energy has launched into the New Zealand market.

Our partners from Tigo Energy and Jinko Solar joined us for the week and introduced their innovative products to demonstrate how solar energy is more effective and economic in an industry that is taking off in New Zealand and the Pacific. We’re proud to be the sole distributors of Jinko Solar panels, teaming up with Tigo they have produced a smart module that stands out in a league of it’s own and this was well received during the launch week by everyone we met.

We’d also like to acknowledge the support of our key partners and suppliers who assisted to make this event a success –Hosola Manufacturing, Zigor Corporation, Shoto Energy and Hopergy Mounting Solutions.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our launch events, it was great to meet you all in person. We also realise there were some people that couldn’t make it along to a launch in their region. We intend to come back to your region early in the New Year, however we’re only a quick call or email away so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

In the meantime take a look at some of the photos from our Auckland Launch event held at the Rydges Rooftop Terrace on November 26.

Have an enjoyable festive season.
