It’s known for reliable, well-engineered systems and a local team that’s quick to support installers on design and installation.

Frequently asked questions

Who supplies S-Rack in New Zealand?

Taspac Energy supplies S-Rack to solar installers and electricians across New Zealand, from our warehouses in Auckland and Christchurch. If you’re a farmer or property owner planning a ground mount system, ask your installer about S-Rack.

What is S-Rack?

S-Rack makes racking for ground mounted solar, the frames that hold solar panels on the ground instead of on a roof. S-Rack suits farms, lifestyle blocks and commercial sites with room for a ground mount array.

What racking should I use for ground mount solar on a farm?

Farm arrays need racking that copes with open, exposed paddocks and uneven ground. S-Rack’s Sigma range is designed for exactly that. Posts can be driven straight into the ground or concreted in, the system handles up to a 5° east–west slope, and tilt adjusts between 15° and 30°. Taspac Energy supplies S-Rack to installers across New Zealand.

Why use S-Rack engineered racking instead of timber?

A timber frame has to be worked out and built for each job, and over time timber can rot, warp or move, which puts your panels out of alignment. S-Rack is pre-engineered and certified, so there’s no structure to design, and it arrives as a kit your own team can install with standard tools. Hot-dip galvanised steel and a 10-year product warranty mean a consistent, certified result that lasts as long as the panels on it.

Is S-Rack suitable for New Zealand conditions?

Yes. The Sigma range is rated up to C5, a very high corrosion category. S-Rack’s online calculator, which installers use to prepare a quote, also includes New Zealand wind regions, so the site’s wind region is captured with the system details.

How is the S-Rack Sigma S1 installed?

The Sigma S1 has a high level of pre-assembly. The purlin clamps come pre-assembled on the girder, the module clamps have integrated earthing pins, and the girder fixes directly to the pile foundation with a single bolt. Installation uses standard, off-the-shelf tools.

What is the S-Rack Sigma S1 made from?

The Sigma S1’s steel parts are hot-dip galvanised, and its purlins are available in aluminium or steel.
